About the history of this great instrument:

The Bach 50 is a great all-round bass trombone. With its huge, big sound, it is always welcome in the symphony orchestra, wind band or big band.

Bach is one of the leading American manufacturers of trombones, and has been since 1924.

This trombone was made in Elkhart ( Indiana). The small town is world famous for the incredibly high quality of the instruments made there ( not only by Bach).

It was built around 2006 and recently overhauled by us.

What distinguishes this professional Bach bass trombone:

    • Big, powerful sound, responds surprisingly easily.
    • The train is running well. No chrome loss.
    • This instrument has a cylindrical pull with .562″ (14.28mm) L- bore. The bell is Ø 9,5″ (241mm)
    • Yellow brass bell, yellow brass outer slide.
    • As a lubricant, I recommend Slide-O-Mix Rapid Comfort for these 50.
    • The serial number is 186XXX, circa 2006.

Condition of this 50 after intensive testing:

    • The train is running great. No chrome loss.
    • The tuning slides are freely movable
    • Stop felt is available.
    • Rubber stopper is present.
    • The instrument is in good condition, has been freshly overhauled.
    • The dependent valves run quickly and quietly, are freshly adjusted. Tuning Bb/F/Eb
    • The instrument is stripped of its varnish. It will tarnish quite quickly and develop a very nice vintage patina.
    • The grip points are also in good condition.
    • The instrument was recently overhauled by us and is now immediately optimally playable.

I am a professional musician myself and have tested this trombone intensively and found it to be in perfect condition. That is why we also give 2 years warranty.

    Included accessories:

    • The instrument comes with the original Bach case. The hinges are repaired helpfully.

Recommendation from me as a professional musician:

    • The 50 is the first choice for many professionals for classical music, big band, theater and musical.
    • As a lubricant for this 50 recommend the Yamaha Slide Lubricant or Slide-O-Mix Rapid Comfort.
    • The instrument should be cleaned regularly from the inside, e.g. with a Reka care set

    – Generally not, as mouthpieces are a highly individual matter. If a mouthpiece is included, I write it explicitly in the item description. If you need a mouthpiece, I have a large selection. If you have any questions, please contact me.

    – As a rule, all instruments are overhauled and / or workshop serviced. I only sell instruments that are in such good condition that I would use them professionally myself. If an instrument is not directly playable, I will clearly state this in the item description.

    – I deal in instruments that I am enthusiastic about myself and that I can recommend with a clear conscience. These are almost exclusively professional series from the largest and most exquisite manufacturers.
