About the history of this great instrument:

C.G.Conn is one of the leading American manufacturers of trombones.

This model was built in the small brass instrument making town of Elkhart, Indiana, USA. The instruments from this Conn era are in great demand due to the superior sound and manufacturing quality.

The 88h is one of the most popular instruments for classical music worldwide and can be seen a lot in symphony orchestras.

It was built in 1969 and recently overhauled by us.

What makes this professional Conn 88h tenor trombone distinguishes:

    • Nice, open Elkhart sound. Open play feel.
    • The train is running well. No chrome loss.
    • This instrument has a cylindrical pull ( Single Bore). The bore is .547″ ( 13.89mm), the bell is 8.5″ ( 216mm).
    • The single valve tenor trombone has the tuning Bb/F
    • Beautiful handmade engraving
    • As a lubricant, I recommend the Yamaha Slide Lubricant or Slide-O-Mix Rapid Comfort for this 88h.

Condition of this 88h after intensive examination:

    • The train is running well. No chrome loss.
    • The tuning slides are freely movable.
    • Stop felt is available.
    • Water flap is tight.
    • The valve runs quickly and quietly.
    • The paint is in good used condition. Of course, there are a few scratches and the like, on the train the paint is partially down.
    • The grip points are in good condition.
    • The instrument was recently overhauled by us and is now immediately playable.

I am a professional musician myself and have tested this trombone intensively and found it to be in perfect condition. That is why we also give 2 years warranty.

    Included accessories:

    • The instrument comes in a simple gig bag or case.

Recommendation from me as a professional musician:

    • The legendary “88h” from one of the best and most sought after years of construction.
    • As a lubricant for this 88h recommend the Yamaha Slide Lubricant or Slide-O-Mix Rapid Comfort.
    • The instrument should be cleaned regularly from the inside, e.g. with a Reka care set.
