For sale here is a used King 6b Duo Gravis bass trombone. A brilliant bass trombone. Comparable new instruments cost around €5,000.

About the history of this great instrument:

King is one of the world's largest and most recognized manufacturers of brass instruments. The trombone offered here is an instrument “Made in USA”. You can immediately see and feel the high quality of workmanship of the instrument. Many great “trombone heroes” such as JJ Johnson, Kai Winding, Ed Neumeister, Adrian Mears, Jiggs Whigham and many others play a King. It was built around 1973 and we recently overhauled it for you.

What distinguishes this professional King bass trombone:

  • Fat, crisp sound, especially great for big band, jazz, pop and musicals.
  • The train runs great. No abrasion. Some dezincification.
  • The slide is cylindrical with a 14.3mm/ .562″ bore. The bell is 241mm/ 9.5″ wide.
  • Yellow brass bell, nickel silver slide.
  • The two dependent rotary valves are tuned Bb/F/D.
  • As a lubricant I recommend Slide-O-Mix Rapid Comfort for this 6b.
  • The serial number on the bell is 468XXX, which is approximately 1973.

Condition of this King after intensive testing:

  • The train runs well. No wear.
  • The tuning slides are freely movable
  • The valves are tight and move quickly and quietly.
  • Stop felt is available.
  • The water valve is tight and works perfectly.
  • Rubber stopper / parquet protector is available.
  • The instrument is in good condition.
  • Beautiful, curved "Duo Gravis" engraving
  • The bell has been stripped of varnish and has a beautiful vintage patina.
  • The handles are also in great condition.
  • The instrument was recently overhauled by us and is now perfectly playable.
I am a professional musician myself and have tested this trombone thoroughly and found it to be flawless. That is why we offer a 2-year guarantee.

Accessories included:

  • The instrument in the original King case.
  • The 6b Duo Gravis is a legendary bass trombone that shines with a fat, crisp sound.
  • I recommend using Slide-O-Mix Rapid Comfort as a lubricant for this 6b.
  • The instrument should be cleaned regularly from the inside, e.g. with a Reka care set.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Is it possible to play the instruments in the store?

– Yes, during opening hours or by appointment in our shop with workshop in Mölln.

I have no way of coming to Mölln. Can I still play the instruments?

– Yes, that is possible. The easiest way is to place a normal order. Then you have a 30-day right of return after receiving the goods and can test the instrument at your leisure at home, in class or at a rehearsal. Shipping and returns are free for you in Germany anyway. If you still don't want to order, please contact us and we will find a solution.

Who is behind Elbblech?

– That's me, Felix Eilers, a professional trombonist and managing director. Instrument maker Danilo Neun works in the workshop and in sales in our shop in Mölln. We are also supported by our partner workshops "Trompetentobi".

Do you also buy instruments?

– Yes, please feel free to contact me via this page if you have something to offer.

Is it possible to contact you by telephone?

– Yes, please feel free to contact me via this page if you have something to offer.

Are the instruments delivered with a mouthpiece?

- New instruments are always delivered with a mouthpiece. Used instruments are not, in most cases. We have a large selection of mouthpieces and are happy to advise you individually when purchasing a mouthpiece.

Are the instruments playable straight away?

– As a rule, all instruments are serviced and/or serviced in a workshop. I only sell instruments that are in such good condition that I would use them professionally myself. If an instrument is not immediately playable, I write this clearly in the item description.

Do you also ship outside of Germany?

Yes, we have been shipping worldwide for many years.

Is it safe to buy from Elbblech?

– My customers say: “Yes!”. On Ebay, for example, I have over 500 positive reviews, 100% of which are positive and 5 stars in all subcategories. We now enjoy an excellent reputation worldwide for our services and products.
