For sale here is a used Bach 36B tenor trombone with quarter valve. New price: 5,461€.

About the history of this great instrument:

The Bach 36 is the most widely used trombone among trombonists who have to cover classical as well as pop and jazz.

It is a trombone with a very versatile sound.

Bach has been one of the leading American trombone manufacturers since 1924.

This trombone was made in Elkhart (Indiana). The small town is world-famous for the incredibly high quality of the instruments made there (not only by Bach).

It was built around 1978 and we recently overhauled it for you.

What distinguishes this professional Bach 36B tenor trombone:

  • Very elegant sound and very malleable.
  • The train runs fine. No chrome loss.
  • This instrument has a cylindrical slide with .525" (13.34mm) S-bore. The bell is Ø 8" (203mm)
  • Gold brass bell, nickel silver LT (lightweight) outer slide.
  • As a lubricant I recommend 36 Slide-O-Mix Rapid Comfort.
  • The "O" stands for "openwrap", i.e. open valve construction. The valve tones sound very open and play that way too.
  • The serial number is 35XXX, circa 1978.

Condition of these 36 after intensive testing:

  • The LT train runs great. No chrome loss.
  • The tuning slides are freely movable.
  • Some pipe parts of the valve have been replaced, these are unpainted and will develop a nice patina.
  • Stop felt is available.
  • Rubber stopper is available.
  • Paint is in good condition, some streaking.
  • The valve runs quickly and quietly and is freshly adjusted.
  • The handles are also in good condition.
  • The instrument was recently overhauled by us and is now perfectly playable.
I am a professional musician myself and have tested this trombone thoroughly and found it to be flawless. That is why we offer a 2-year guarantee.

Accessories included:

  • The instrument comes in the original Bach case.

Recommendation from me as a professional musician:

  • The 36 is a great choice for all trombonists who move back and forth "between worlds".
  • For this 36 I recommend Yamaha Slide Lubricant or Slide-O-Mix Rapid Comfort as a lubricant.
  • The instrument should be cleaned regularly from the inside, e.g. with a Reka care set.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Is it possible to play the instruments in the store?

– Yes, during opening hours or by appointment in our shop with workshop in Mölln.

I have no way of coming to Mölln. Can I still play the instruments?

– Yes, that is possible. The easiest way is to place a normal order. Then you have a 30-day right of return after receiving the goods and can test the instrument at your leisure at home, in class or at a rehearsal. Shipping and returns are free for you in Germany anyway. If you still don't want to order, please contact us and we will find a solution.

Who is behind Elbblech?

– That's me, Felix Eilers, a professional trombonist and managing director. Instrument maker Danilo Neun works in the workshop and in sales in our shop in Mölln. We are also supported by our partner workshops "Trompetentobi".

Do you also buy instruments?

– Yes, please feel free to contact me via this page if you have something to offer.

Is it possible to contact you by telephone?

– Yes, please feel free to contact me via this page if you have something to offer.

Are the instruments delivered with a mouthpiece?

- New instruments are always delivered with a mouthpiece. Used instruments are not, in most cases. We have a large selection of mouthpieces and are happy to advise you individually when purchasing a mouthpiece.

Are the instruments playable straight away?

– As a rule, all instruments are serviced and/or serviced in a workshop. I only sell instruments that are in such good condition that I would use them professionally myself. If an instrument is not immediately playable, I write this clearly in the item description.

Do you also ship outside of Germany?

Yes, we have been shipping worldwide for many years.

Is it safe to buy from Elbblech?

– My customers say: “Yes!”. On Ebay, for example, I have over 500 positive reviews, 100% of which are positive and 5 stars in all subcategories. We now enjoy an excellent reputation worldwide for our services and products.
