For sale here is a used King 3bf Concert Jazz Trombone. A beautiful, well-preserved vintage instrument!

About the history of this great instrument:

King is one of the world's largest and most recognized manufacturers of brass instruments.

The trombone offered here is an instrument "Made in USA".

You can immediately see and feel the high quality of workmanship of the instrument.

Many great "trombone heroes" such as JJ Johnson, Kai Winding, Ed Neumeister, Adrian Mears, Jiggs Whigham and many others play a King.

It was manufactured around 1978 and has recently been overhauled by us. The normal, non-silver-plated version currently has a RRP of €4,330.

What distinguishes this professional King 3bf jazz trombone:

  • Warm, jazzy sound. Starts up very quickly.
  • The train runs great. No chrome loss.
  • The slide is cylindrical with a 12.9mm/ .508" bore. The bell is 203mm/ 8" wide.
  • Silver-plated yellow brass bell, nickel silver slide.
  • As a lubricant I recommend 3b Slide-O-Mix Rapid Comfort or Yamaha Slide Lubricant.
  • The serial number is 698XXX (approx. 1978).

Condition of this 3bf after intensive testing:

  • The train runs great. No chrome loss.
  • The tuning slides are freely movable
  • The valve runs quickly and quietly.
  • Stop felt is available.
  • Rubber stopper / parquet protector is available.
  • The instrument is in good condition.
  • With the curved "Concert" engraving
  • Overall the paint is in great condition.
  • The handles are in great condition
  • The instrument was recently overhauled by us and is now perfectly playable.
I am a professional musician myself and have tested this trombone thoroughly and found it to be flawless. That is why we offer a 2-year guarantee.

Accessories included:

  • The instrument comes with the original King case.

Recommendation from me as a professional musician:

  • The 3bf is one of the very few narrow-bore jazz instruments with valves. This makes it extremely flexible, from lead vocals to 3rd trombone.
  • I recommend using 3b Slide-O-Mix Rapid Comfort as a lubricant.
  • The instrument should be cleaned regularly from the inside, e.g. with a Reka care set.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Is it possible to play the instruments in the store?

– Yes, during opening hours or by appointment in our shop with workshop in Mölln.

I have no way of coming to Mölln. Can I still play the instruments?

– Yes, that is possible. The easiest way is to place a normal order. Then you have a 30-day right of return after receiving the goods and can test the instrument at your leisure at home, in class or at a rehearsal. Shipping and returns are free for you in Germany anyway. If you still don't want to order, please contact us and we will find a solution.

Who is behind Elbblech?

Is it possible to contact you by telephone?

– Yes, please feel free to contact me via this page if you have something to offer.

Are the instruments delivered with a mouthpiece?

- New instruments are always delivered with a mouthpiece. Used instruments are not, in most cases. We have a large selection of mouthpieces and are happy to advise you individually when purchasing a mouthpiece.

Are the instruments playable straight away?

– As a rule, all instruments are serviced and/or serviced in a workshop. I only sell instruments that are in such good condition that I would use them professionally myself. If an instrument is not immediately playable, I write this clearly in the item description.

Do you also ship outside of Germany?

Yes, we have been shipping worldwide for many years.

Is it safe to buy from Elbblech?

– My customers say: “Yes!”. On Ebay, for example, I have over 500 positive reviews, 100% of which are positive and 5 stars in all subcategories. We now enjoy an excellent reputation worldwide for our services and products.
