For sale here is a used Conn 73h bass trombone. Comparable new instruments cost 4000-5000€.

About the history of this great instrument:

CGConn is one of the leading American manufacturers of trombones.

You can feel the excellent quality of this American handcraft immediately!

This 73h is one of the most popular trombone models, known for its warm and compact sound.

It is the two-valve version of the 70h family. The original 70h was played for a long time by legend George Roberts, for example.

The 73h, for example, was for a long time the instrument of choice for Ingo Lahme, bass trombonist for the NDR Big Band.

It was built in 1977 and has recently been overhauled by us.

What distinguishes this professional Conn 73h bass trombone:
  • Fat, compact sound, great especially for big band.
  • The two-valve bass trombone is tuned Bb/F/D.
  • The instrument has the original valve pushers (both operated with the thumb)
  • The train runs well. Some wear.
  • Beautiful, handmade "Elkhart style" engraving (although this is not an Elkhart instrument).
  • This instrument has a cylindrical slide with 14.3mm / 0.562" diameter. The bell is 241mm ( 9.5")
  • Brass bell, brass slide.
  • I recommend using Slide-O-Mix Rapid Comfort as a lubricant for this 73h.

Condition of these 73h after intensive testing:

  • The train runs well. Some chrome abrasion is visible.
  • The tuning slides are freely movable
  • Stop felt is available.
  • The serial number GL7XXXXX dates the instrument to 1977.
  • The instrument is varnished. The varnish has visible signs of wear.
  • The handles are in good condition
  • The instrument was recently overhauled by us and is now perfectly playable.
I am a professional musician myself and have tested this trombone thoroughly and found it to be flawless. That is why we offer a 2-year guarantee.

Accessories included:

  • The instrument comes with the original Conn case.

Recommendation from me as a professional musician:

  • The 73h is a great, two-valve bass trombone that can be used for all styles.
  • I recommend using Slide-O-Mix Rapid Comfort as a lubricant for this 73h.
  • The instrument should be cleaned regularly from the inside, e.g. with a Reka care set.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Is it possible to play the instruments in the store?

– Yes, during opening hours or by appointment in our shop with workshop in Mölln.

I have no way of coming to Mölln. Can I still play the instruments?

– Yes, that is possible. The easiest way is to place a normal order. Then you have a 30-day right of return after receiving the goods and can test the instrument at your leisure at home, in class or at a rehearsal. Shipping and returns are free for you in Germany anyway. If you still don't want to order, please contact us and we will find a solution.

Who is behind Elbblech?

– That's me, Felix Eilers, a professional trombonist and managing director. Instrument maker Danilo Neun works in the workshop and in sales in our shop in Mölln. We are also supported by our partner workshops "Trompetentobi".

Do you also buy instruments?

– Yes, please feel free to contact me via this page if you have something to offer.

Is it possible to contact you by telephone?

– Yes, please feel free to contact me via this page if you have something to offer.

Are the instruments delivered with a mouthpiece?

- New instruments are always delivered with a mouthpiece. Used instruments are not, in most cases. We have a large selection of mouthpieces and are happy to advise you individually when purchasing a mouthpiece.

Are the instruments playable straight away?

– As a rule, all instruments are serviced and/or serviced in a workshop. I only sell instruments that are in such good condition that I would use them professionally myself. If an instrument is not immediately playable, I write this clearly in the item description.

Do you also ship outside of Germany?

Yes, we have been shipping worldwide for many years.

Is it safe to buy from Elbblech?

– My customers say: “Yes!”. On Ebay, for example, I have over 500 positive reviews, 100% of which are positive and 5 stars in all subcategories. We now enjoy an excellent reputation worldwide for our services and products.
