For sale here is a used Conn 88h Artist Symphony tenor trombone.

About the history of this great instrument: CGConn is one of the leading American manufacturers of trombones.

You can feel the excellent quality of this American handcraft immediately!

The 88h is one of the most popular instruments for classical music worldwide and is often seen in symphony orchestras.

The instrument was manufactured around 1966 and was recently overhauled by us.

What distinguishes this professional Conn 88h tenor trombone:
  • Big, classic Conn sound.
  • The train is playable, although not fantastic. Some chrome loss.
  • This instrument has a cylindrical slide (single bore). The bore is .547" (13.89mm), the bell 8.5" (216mm).
  • The instrument has been stripped of varnish and will develop a beautiful patina, or you can polish it again.
  • Valve mechanism has been redesigned for slightly smaller hands.
  • Floral "Elkhart" engraving
  • The train is from 1966 (Elkhart)
  • For this 88h I recommend Yamaha Slide Lubricant or Slide-O-Mix Rapid Comfort.

Condition of this 88h after intensive testing:
  • The train runs well, although not great. Some wear.
  • The tuning slides are freely movable
  • Stop spring is present.
  • Water valve is closed.
  • The valve runs quickly and quietly. The mechanism is not original. Neither is the valve cover.
  • No varnish present, the instrument has been stripped of varnish.
  • The handles are in good condition.
  • The instrument was recently overhauled by us and is now ready to play.
  • I am a professional musician myself and have tested this trombone thoroughly and found it to be flawless. That is why we offer a 2-year guarantee.

Accessories included:
  • The instrument comes with a simple wooden case.

Recommendation from me as a professional musician:
  • Well-playable premium instrument from a great year of manufacture with signs of use at a reasonable price.
  • For this 88h I recommend Yamaha Slide Lubricant or Slide-O-Mix Rapid Comfort as a lubricant.
  • The instrument should be cleaned regularly from the inside, e.g. with a Reka care set.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Is it possible to play the instruments in the store?

– Yes, during opening hours or by appointment in our shop with workshop in Mölln.

I have no way of coming to Mölln. Can I still play the instruments?

– Yes, that is possible. The easiest way is to place a normal order. Then you have a 30-day right of return after receiving the goods and can test the instrument at your leisure at home, in class or at a rehearsal. Shipping and returns are free for you in Germany anyway. If you still don't want to order, please contact us and we will find a solution.

Who is behind Elbblech?

– That's me, Felix Eilers, a professional trombonist and managing director. Instrument maker Danilo Neun works in the workshop and in sales in our shop in Mölln. We are also supported by our partner workshops "Trompetentobi".

Do you also buy instruments?

– Yes, please feel free to contact me via this page if you have something to offer.

Is it possible to contact you by telephone?

– Yes, please feel free to contact me via this page if you have something to offer.

Are the instruments delivered with a mouthpiece?

- New instruments are always delivered with a mouthpiece. Used instruments are not, in most cases. We have a large selection of mouthpieces and are happy to advise you individually when purchasing a mouthpiece.

Are the instruments playable straight away?

– As a rule, all instruments are serviced and/or serviced in a workshop. I only sell instruments that are in such good condition that I would use them professionally myself. If an instrument is not immediately playable, I write this clearly in the item description.

Do you also ship outside of Germany?

Yes, we have been shipping worldwide for many years.

Is it safe to buy from Elbblech?

– My customers say: “Yes!”. On Ebay, for example, I have over 500 positive reviews, 100% of which are positive and 5 stars in all subcategories. We now enjoy an excellent reputation worldwide for our services and products.
