For sale here is a used, very rare Conn 8D French horn. This extremely sought-after double horn was made in Elkhart.

About the history of this great instrument:

CGConn is one of the leading American manufacturers of trombones.

You can feel the excellent quality of this American handcraft immediately!

This model was built in the small brass instrument making town of Elkhart in Indiana, USA. The instruments from this Conn era are extremely sought after due to their outstanding sound and manufacturing quality.

The 8D is sought after worldwide and played by big stars.

It was built in the Elkhart era (1970) and recently overhauled by us.

What distinguishes this professional double horn:

  • Warm, round sound, great intonation.
  • The valves are working fine.
  • This instrument has a bore of .468" ( 11.89mm), the bell 12 1/4" ( 311mm).
  • The instrument is varnished.
  • Small, elegant engraving
  • Kruspe wrap with improved intonation
  • The model was played by the most famous Hollywood (film music) horn player ever, Vincent DeRosa

Condition of this 8D after intensive testing:

– Yes, during opening hours or by appointment in our shop with workshop in Mölln.

I have no way of coming to Mölln. Can I still play the instruments?

– Yes, that is possible. The easiest way is to place a normal order. Then you have a 30-day right of return after receiving the goods and can test the instrument at your leisure at home, in class or at a rehearsal. Shipping and returns are free for you in Germany anyway. If you still don't want to order, please contact us and we will find a solution.

Who is behind Elbblech?

– That's me, Felix Eilers, a professional trombonist and managing director. Instrument maker Danilo Neun works in the workshop and in sales in our shop in Mölln. We are also supported by our partner workshops "Trompetentobi".

- New instruments are always delivered with a mouthpiece. Used instruments are not, in most cases. We have a large selection of mouthpieces and are happy to advise you individually when purchasing a mouthpiece.

Are the instruments playable straight away?

– As a rule, all instruments are serviced and/or serviced in a workshop. I only sell instruments that are in such good condition that I would use them professionally myself. If an instrument is not immediately playable, I write this clearly in the item description.
