For sale here is a used Holton TR-181 bass trombone. The new price is 6,508€.

About the history of this great instrument:

The traditional American manufacturer "Holton" is known worldwide for its high-quality brass instruments. The company's instruments have a very unique sound and are known for their innovative designs and high-quality workmanship.

What distinguishes this professional Holton TR-181 bass trombone:

  • Big, warm sound and great intonation.
  • The train runs well. Minimal wear.
  • This instrument has a cylindrical slide with a diameter of 14.3mm / 0.562".
  • The bell is 254mm (10")
  • Hand-hammered gold brass bell, nickel silver outer slide.
  • Tuning: Bb/F/D/Gb. The valves are independent and work great!
  • I recommend Holton TR-181 Slide-O-Mix Rapid Comfort as a lubricant.

Condition of this TR-181 after intensive testing:

  • The instrument is immediately playable.
  • The train runs well. Minimal wear.
  • The tuning slides are freely movable
  • Stop felt is available.
  • Rubber stopper / parquet protector is available.
  • The serial number 593XXX dates the instrument to around 1985.
  • The instrument has been stripped of varnish and polished. It will develop a beautiful patina over the years. Or you can clean it again.
  • The chrome plating on the handles is worn.
  • The instrument was recently overhauled by us and is now perfectly playable.
I am a professional musician myself and have tested this trombone thoroughly and found it to be flawless. That is why we offer a 2-year guarantee.

Accessories included:

  • The instrument comes with a black wooden case.

Recommendation from me as a professional musician:

  • The TR-181 is a great two-valve bass trombone that can be used for all styles.
  • I recommend using Slide-O-Mix Rapid Comfort as a lubricant for this TR-181.
  • The instrument should be cleaned regularly from the inside, e.g. with a Reka care set.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Is it possible to play the instruments in the store?

– Yes, during opening hours or by appointment in our shop with workshop in Mölln.

I have no way of coming to Mölln. Can I still play the instruments?

– Yes, that is possible. The easiest way is to place a normal order. Then you have a 30-day right of return after receiving the goods and can test the instrument at your leisure at home, in class or at a rehearsal. Shipping and returns are free for you in Germany anyway. If you still don't want to order, please contact us and we will find a solution.

Who is behind Elbblech?

– That's me, Felix Eilers, a professional trombonist and managing director. Instrument maker Danilo Neun works in the workshop and in sales in our shop in Mölln. We are also supported by our partner workshops "Trompetentobi".

– Yes, please feel free to contact me via this page if you have something to offer.

Is it possible to contact you by telephone?

– Yes, please feel free to contact me via this page if you have something to offer.

Are the instruments delivered with a mouthpiece?

- New instruments are always delivered with a mouthpiece. Used instruments are not, in most cases. We have a large selection of mouthpieces and are happy to advise you individually when purchasing a mouthpiece.

Are the instruments playable straight away?

– As a rule, all instruments are serviced and/or serviced in a workshop. I only sell instruments that are in such good condition that I would use them professionally myself. If an instrument is not immediately playable, I write this clearly in the item description.

Do you also ship outside of Germany?

Yes, we have been shipping worldwide for many years.

Is it safe to buy from Elbblech?

– My customers say: “Yes!”. On Ebay, for example, I have over 500 positive reviews, 100% of which are positive and 5 stars in all subcategories. We now enjoy an excellent reputation worldwide for our services and products.
