About the history of this great instrument:

The traditional American manufacturer "Holton" is known worldwide for its high-quality brass instruments. The company's instruments have a very unique sound and are known for their innovative designs and high-quality workmanship.
The TR-183 was developed with and for bass trombone legend George Roberts. It is, in a sense, Holton's further development of Conn's 70s series.

The bore of 14.3mm defines it as a bass trombone, the bell of 229mm would be a very large tenor trombone. This instrument can be used both as a deep tenor trombone and as a bass trombone.
