For sale here is a used King 4b Sonorous tenor trombone. Similar new instruments cost 4000€.

The King 4b is King's premium tenor trombone for classical music. The bell and bore are the same size as a Conn 88h and Bach 42. A great professional instrument!

King is one of the world's largest and most recognized manufacturers of brass instruments.

The trombone offered here is an instrument "Made in USA".

You can immediately see and feel the high quality of workmanship of the instrument.

What distinguishes this professional King 4b Sonorous trombone:

  • Rich, beautiful sound.
  • The train runs well. No wear.
  • The bell is 8.5" (216mm) and the bore is .547" (13.9mm).
  • Large mouthpiece shaft (L)
  • Yellow brass bell, nickel silver outer slide.
  • For this 4b I recommend Yamaha Slide Lubricant or Slide-O-Mix Rapid Comfort.
  • Built around 1979, recently overhauled.

Condition of this 4b after intensive testing:

  • The train runs well. No wear.
  • The tuning slide is freely movable
  • Stop felt is available.
  • Barely legible "King 4b Sonorous" engraving
  • Rubber stopper / parquet protector is available.
  • The instrument is ready to play and sounds great. It has some signs of use, but these do not affect the sound or the enjoyment of playing.
  • The paint shows some heavy signs of wear. The train has been brushed.
  • The handles show clear signs of wear.
  • The instrument was recently overhauled by us and is now ready to play.
I am a professional musician myself and have tested this trombone thoroughly and found it to be flawless. That is why we offer a 2-year guarantee.

Accessories included:

  • The instrument comes with the original King case in used condition.

Recommendation from me as a professional musician:

  • This 4b Sonorous is a brilliant instrument for classical music, but also for the lower voices in a big band or in a jazz combo (see Ed Kröger!)
  • For this 4b I recommend Yamaha Slide Lubricant or Slide-O-Mix Rapid Comfort.
  • The instrument should be cleaned regularly from the inside, e.g. with a Reka care set.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Is it possible to play the instruments in the store?

– Yes, during opening hours or by appointment in our shop with workshop in Mölln.

I have no way of coming to Mölln. Can I still play the instruments?

– Yes, that is possible. The easiest way is to place a normal order. Then you have a 30-day right of return after receiving the goods and can test the instrument at your leisure at home, in class or at a rehearsal. Shipping and returns are free for you in Germany anyway. If you still don't want to order, please contact us and we will find a solution.

Who is behind Elbblech?

– That's me, Felix Eilers, a professional trombonist and managing director. Instrument maker Danilo Neun works in the workshop and in sales in our shop in Mölln. We are also supported by our partner workshops "Trompetentobi".

Do you also buy instruments?

– Yes, please feel free to contact me via this page if you have something to offer.

Is it possible to contact you by telephone?

– Yes, please feel free to contact me via this page if you have something to offer.

Are the instruments delivered with a mouthpiece?

- New instruments are always delivered with a mouthpiece. Used instruments are not, in most cases. We have a large selection of mouthpieces and are happy to advise you individually when purchasing a mouthpiece.

Are the instruments playable straight away?

– As a rule, all instruments are serviced and/or serviced in a workshop. I only sell instruments that are in such good condition that I would use them professionally myself. If an instrument is not immediately playable, I write this clearly in the item description.

Do you also ship outside of Germany?

Yes, we have been shipping worldwide for many years.

Is it safe to buy from Elbblech?

– My customers say: “Yes!”. On Ebay, for example, I have over 500 positive reviews, 100% of which are positive and 5 stars in all subcategories. We now enjoy an excellent reputation worldwide for our services and products.
