For sale here is a used King Silvertone Jazz Trombone from the HNWhite era.

About the history of this great instrument:

King is one of the world's largest and most recognized manufacturers of brass instruments.

The trombone offered here is an instrument "Made in USA".

You can immediately see and feel the high quality of workmanship of the instrument.

This beautiful instrument is from the "HNWhite" era, it is from 1941. Instruments from this period are incredibly sought after due to their manufacturing and sound quality.

Many great "trombone heroes" such as JJ Johnson, Kai Winding, Ed Neumeister, Adrian Mears, Jiggs Whigham and many others play a King.

It was built around 1941 and we recently overhauled it. Comparable new instruments cost around €5000.

What distinguishes this professional King Silvertone jazz trombone:

  • Beautiful, singing sound with a lot of character.
  • The train runs well. Some wear.
  • The slide is conical, with a 11.71mm/ .461" //12.22mm/ .481" bore. The bell is 184mm/ 7.25" wide.
  • Sterling silver bell
  • As a lubricant I recommend Silvertone Slide-O-Mix Rapid Comfort.
  • The serial number is 256XXX (ca. 1941).

Condition of this Silvertone after intensive testing:

  • The train runs well. Some wear.
  • The tuning slide is freely movable
  • Stop felt is available.
  • Rubber stopper / parquet protector is available.
  • The instrument is in good condition for its age and can be used straight away.
  • The instrument was apparently stripped of paint at some point, it tarnished, and was then varnished while still tarnished. The patina cannot be cleaned off.
  • The instrument has the great 3-part screw counterweight.
  • The handles are also in great condition
  • The instrument was recently overhauled by us and is now perfectly playable.
I am a professional musician myself and have tested this trombone thoroughly and found it to be flawless. That is why we offer a 2-year guarantee.

Accessories included:

  • The instrument comes with a modern Eastman / Winter hardcase. It is in good condition, although the Velcro fastener on the slide compartment no longer holds well.

Recommendation from me as a professional musician:

  • The Silvertone is a perfect instrument for jazz, big band and pop that meets the highest demands.
  • I recommend using Slide-O-Mix Rapid Comfort as a lubricant for this 2b.
  • The instrument should be cleaned regularly from the inside, e.g. with a Reka care set.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Is it possible to play the instruments in the store?

– Yes, during opening hours or by appointment in our shop with workshop in Mölln.

I have no way of coming to Mölln. Can I still play the instruments?

– Yes, that is possible. The easiest way is to place a normal order. Then you have a 30-day right of return after receiving the goods and can test the instrument at your leisure at home, in class or at a rehearsal. Shipping and returns are free for you in Germany anyway. If you still don't want to order, please contact us and we will find a solution.

Who is behind Elbblech?

Is it possible to contact you by telephone?

– Yes, please feel free to contact me via this page if you have something to offer.

Are the instruments delivered with a mouthpiece?

- New instruments are always delivered with a mouthpiece. Used instruments are not, in most cases. We have a large selection of mouthpieces and are happy to advise you individually when purchasing a mouthpiece.

Are the instruments playable straight away?

– As a rule, all instruments are serviced and/or serviced in a workshop. I only sell instruments that are in such good condition that I would use them professionally myself. If an instrument is not immediately playable, I write this clearly in the item description.

Do you also ship outside of Germany?

Yes, we have been shipping worldwide for many years.

Is it safe to buy from Elbblech?

– My customers say: “Yes!”. On Ebay, for example, I have over 500 positive reviews, 100% of which are positive and 5 stars in all subcategories. We now enjoy an excellent reputation worldwide for our services and products.
