About the history of this great instrument:

For sale here is a used Shires 7YLW T25-47 tenor trombone with dual bore quarter valve. New price: approx. 5500€.

The now legendary trombone forge SEShires has gained attention among trombonists worldwide in recent decades.
Many of the most famous stars such as Joe Alessi, Blair Bollinger, George Curran, Michael Davis and Marshall Gilkes play Shires.
This instrument was built about 5 years ago and recently overhauled by us.

What distinguishes this professional Shires tenor trombone:

  • Big but agile sound. Bright and radiant.
  • The train runs great. No chrome loss.
  • This instrument has a conical slide with .525 (13.34mm)/ .547" (13.90mm) bore. The bell is Ø 8.5" (216.00mm)
  • Large mouthpiece shaft (L)
  • Yellow brass bell, yellow brass slide.
  • I recommend using Yamaha Slide Lubricant or Slide-O-Mix Rapid Comfort as a lubricant for this Bach.
  • Components: Slide T25-47: Conical slide, open, big sound.
Bell 7YLW: Adapted 2-piece construction that combines the advantages of 1-piece and 2-piece soldered bells. Soldered wire in the bell rim. Clear articulations and great stability for sustained tones.
  • One (1) replaceable lead pipe.

Condition of these Shires after intensive testing:

  • The train runs great. No chrome loss.
  • The tuning slides are freely movable.
  • Rubber stopper is available.
  • Stop felt is available.
  • The valve tones sound beautifully open thanks to "Open Wrap".
  • The dual-bore valve runs great and almost without resistance.
  • The paint is in great condition.
  • The handles are in great condition
  • The instrument was recently overhauled by us and is now ready to play.
I am a professional musician myself and have tested this trombone thoroughly and found it to be flawless. That is why we offer a 2-year guarantee.

Accessories included:

  • The instrument comes with the original Shires case in great condition.

Recommendation from me as a professional musician:

  • The Shires is a perfect orchestral instrument for professionals and any player with high demands.
  • I recommend Yamaha Slide Lubricant as a lubricant for these Shires.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Is it possible to play the instruments in the store?

– Yes, during opening hours or by appointment in our shop with workshop in Mölln.

I have no way of coming to Mölln. Can I still play the instruments?

– Yes, that is possible. The easiest way is to place a normal order. Then you have a 30-day right of return after receiving the goods and can test the instrument at your leisure at home, in class or at a rehearsal. Shipping and returns are free for you in Germany anyway. If you still don't want to order, please contact us and we will find a solution.

Who is behind Elbblech?

– That's me, Felix Eilers, a professional trombonist and managing director. Instrument maker Danilo Neun works in the workshop and in sales in our shop in Mölln. We are also supported by our partner workshops "Trompetentobi".

Is it possible to contact you by telephone?

– Yes, please feel free to contact me via this page if you have something to offer.

Are the instruments delivered with a mouthpiece?

- New instruments are always delivered with a mouthpiece. Used instruments are not, in most cases. We have a large selection of mouthpieces and are happy to advise you individually when purchasing a mouthpiece.

Are the instruments playable straight away?

– As a rule, all instruments are serviced and/or serviced in a workshop. I only sell instruments that are in such good condition that I would use them professionally myself. If an instrument is not immediately playable, I write this clearly in the item description.

Do you also ship outside of Germany?

Yes, we have been shipping worldwide for many years.

Is it safe to buy from Elbblech?

– My customers say: “Yes!”. On Ebay, for example, I have over 500 positive reviews, 100% of which are positive and 5 stars in all subcategories. We now enjoy an excellent reputation worldwide for our services and products.
