For sale here is a used Shires SSY TW47 tenor trombone with quarter valve. New price: approx. 6000€.

About the history of this great instrument:

The now legendary trombone forge SEShires has gained attention among trombonists worldwide in recent decades.
Many of the most famous stars such as Joe Alessi, Blair Bollinger, George Curran, Michael Davis and Marshall Gilkes play Shires.
This instrument is from the popular "Boston" model year 2016 and was recently overhauled by us.

What distinguishes this professional Shires tenor trombone:

  • Big, noble sound, incredibly nuanced playability.
  • The train runs great. No chrome loss.
  • This instrument has a cylindrical slide with .547" / 13.90mm bore. The bell is Ø 8.5" (216.00mm)
  • Large mouthpiece shaft (L)
  • Yellow brass bell, yellow brass slide with nickel silver bow.
  • Classic rotary valve.
  • I recommend Shires Slide-O-Mix Rapid Comfort as a lubricant.
  • Zug TW47: Shires' classic with a wide bow. Plays efficiently and responsively. Orchestral sound that can be easily adapted to any situation.
  • Bell SSY: Two-piece construction, normal cone, soldered rim, medium weight. From the "Master Series". Very similar to the 7YM model.
  • Leadpipe: Model 1.5 - Medium diameter

Condition of these Shires after intensive testing:

  • The train runs great. No chrome loss.
  • The tuning slides are freely movable.
  • Rubber stopper is available.
  • Stop felt is available.
  • The valve tones sound beautifully open thanks to "Open Wrap".
  • The rotary valve runs quietly and quickly.
  • The paint is in good condition. Minor signs of wear are of course visible.
  • The handles are in great condition
  • The instrument was recently overhauled by us and is now ready to play.

Is it possible to play the instruments in the store?

– Yes, during opening hours or by appointment in our shop with workshop in Mölln.

I have no way of coming to Mölln. Can I still play the instruments?

– Yes, that is possible. The easiest way is to place a normal order. Then you have a 30-day right of return after receiving the goods and can test the instrument at your leisure at home, in class or at a rehearsal. Shipping and returns are free for you in Germany anyway. If you still don't want to order, please contact us and we will find a solution.

Who is behind Elbblech?

- New instruments are always delivered with a mouthpiece. Used instruments are not, in most cases. We have a large selection of mouthpieces and are happy to advise you individually when purchasing a mouthpiece.

Are the instruments playable straight away?

– As a rule, all instruments are serviced and/or serviced in a workshop. I only sell instruments that are in such good condition that I would use them professionally myself. If an instrument is not immediately playable, I write this clearly in the item description.

Do you also ship outside of Germany?
