For sale here is a used Bach 39 alto trombone with quarter valve.

About the history of this great instrument:

The Bach 39 is one of the most popular professional alto trombones.

Bach has been one of the leading American trombone manufacturers since 1924.

This trombone was made in Elkhart (Indiana). The small town is world-famous for the incredibly high quality of the instruments made there (not only by Bach). It comes from the popular "Corporation" model years.

It was built around 1976 and we recently overhauled it. The simple version without a valve costs around €3500.

What distinguishes this professional Bach 39 tenor trombone:

  • Beautiful, radiant sound.
  • The train runs fine, no chrome abrasion.
  • This instrument has a cylindrical slide with .468" (11.89mm) S-bore. The bell is Ø 6.5" (165mm)
  • Yellow brass bell, nickel silver lightweight slide.
  • As a lubricant I recommend 39 Slide-O-Mix Rapid Comfort.
  • The serial number is 22XXX, circa 1976.

Condition of this 42 after intensive testing:

  • The train runs great. No chrome loss.
  • The tuning slides are freely movable
  • Stop felt is available.
  • Rubber stopper is available.
  • The instrument has a beautiful gold lacquer. This has flaked off in places. A patina will soon form again in these places.
  • The valve runs quickly and quietly and has been freshly adjusted. It was professionally installed afterwards.
  • The handles are also in good condition.
  • The instrument was recently overhauled by us and is now perfectly playable.
I am a professional musician myself and have tested this trombone thoroughly and found it to be flawless. That is why we offer a 2-year guarantee.

Accessories included:

  • The instrument comes with the used original Bach case.

Recommendation from me as a professional musician:

  • The Bach 39 is one of the most popular alto trombones, here is the luxury version with valve and lightweight slide.
  • I recommend using Yamaha Slide Lubricant or Slide-O-Mix Rapid Comfort as a lubricant for this 39.
  • The instrument should be cleaned regularly from the inside, e.g. with a Reka care set.

That's why Elbblech - safety, quality and guarantees:

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Is it possible to play the instruments in the store?

– Yes, during opening hours or by appointment in our shop with workshop in Mölln.

I have no way of coming to Mölln. Can I still play the instruments?

– Yes, that is possible. The easiest way is to place a normal order. Then you have a 30-day right of return after receiving the goods and can test the instrument at your leisure at home, in class or at a rehearsal. Shipping and returns are free for you in Germany anyway. If you still don't want to order, please contact us and we will find a solution.

Who is behind Elbblech?

Is it possible to contact you by telephone?

– Yes, please feel free to contact me via this page if you have something to offer.

Are the instruments delivered with a mouthpiece?

- New instruments are always delivered with a mouthpiece. Used instruments are not, in most cases. We have a large selection of mouthpieces and are happy to advise you individually when purchasing a mouthpiece.

Are the instruments playable straight away?

– As a rule, all instruments are serviced and/or serviced in a workshop. I only sell instruments that are in such good condition that I would use them professionally myself. If an instrument is not immediately playable, I write this clearly in the item description.

Do you also ship outside of Germany?

Yes, we have been shipping worldwide for many years.

Is it safe to buy from Elbblech?

– My customers say: “Yes!”. On Ebay, for example, I have over 500 positive reviews, 100% of which are positive and 5 stars in all subcategories. We now enjoy an excellent reputation worldwide for our services and products.
